Fishermens huts

Prev | Home | Next

There is something about these green fishermens huts at the South Gare. They are just begging to be photographed, especially with the Corus steelworks in the background. However I've found them to be rather elusive so far. On saying that I quite like this shot. I like the way the solitary hut on the left seems to be lining up the other huts, rather like a sargeant major parading his soldiers.

This shot sure has some unusual qualities. In addition to, as you say, the feeling of one hut shepherding the others in a flock, there is a warp of scale which, somehow, makes the huts look so small. Most intriguing.

Great shot.
The distance between the factory and the huts really creates and illusion of them being "far from everything" in their own little world.
Nice work.
