Bleeding heart

Prev | Home | Next

Things are starting to shoot up in the garden now. It won't be too long before the bleeding heart is out in full bloom. This shot was taken last year, and I've tweaked it to give it a different feel. Sort of half photo, half Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe silk screen print. I've had this around for a while, not knowing whether to post it, but I decided today was the day.

Vase

Prev | Home | Next

Yesterday was great with the sun streaming through the windows, and as I've not been out to get any new shots for a while, I thought I'd take a few images inside. So the next sequence of shots (actually started yesterday) may possibly be these indoor shots. This one was a small flower vase I laid on it's side.

Guitar

Prev | Home | Next

After using my sons guitar for the last couple of months, I thought it was about time I bought my own. So yesterday I did, aided by my mate Mike who knows about these things. Anyway, I ended up with a very nice Tanglewood acoustic.

The Captain Cook

Prev | Home | Next

One of the older pubs in Middlesbrough, the Captain Cook is located 'over the border'. I wonder just how busy it gets on an evening as it's a bit out of the way from the town centre.

Door

Prev | Home | Next

If I remember correctly this is the door into the building that yesterdays shot was part of. It could well be that it is still in use for various activities as that door looks in decent condition as do the windows.

Ornate

Prev | Home | Next

Another shot from 'over the border' in Middlesbrough. This building used to be a bank, but I'm not sure what it's used for now, if anything. Positionally it's a bit out on a limb, lets hope it's not ear-marked by the developers, as I'm sure they would prefer a nice shiny office block in its place.

These terraced houses are 'over the border' in Middlesbrough. There's a number of nice buildings over there. No doubt they'll be earmarked for demolition at some point!

I've been trying to think which building in Middlesbrough this is. I'm pretty sure it's the old Nat West Bank on Albert Road.

50 years married

Yesterday we attended a meal to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of my wifes mother and father, Rita and Les. The actual wedding anniversary occurred on Friday, but here's a shot of them cutting the cake at the meal yesterday.

This is Exchange square in Middlesbrough. I've shown a shot of one of these rubbish bins before, but I think it's worth putting another one up.

Rocks

Prev | Home | Next

As you walk down the hill into the centre of Staithes, there is a valley on the left hand side. That's where you can see this cobbled together structure. It looks like a typical allotment type shack, however the area immediately surrounding it doesn't give the impression of an allotment. I love the rocks on the roof, presumably there to stop the roof flying off as the wind howls through the valley.

This shop is in Whitby. There are two windows at the front of the shop. One of them is perfectly flat as you would expect, and this one is bowed and warped, so much, it looks as if it may fall out at any time.

Staithes last Sunday again. The thing I like about these small coastal villages is that there are always plenty of interesting alleyways and doors to discover, even if the weather is rubbish.

Back to the South Gare for this one. Here's a closer view of the fishermen's huts with the shot being processed differently to usual. But does it work? I may do the occasional shot like this as I quite like it in moderation.
