Not much to say about this one as it's another reflections shot. NYC is great for these.

Macy's

Prev | Home | Next

On the Saturday we were in New York we spent quite a bit of the day indoors due to the rain, and one of the places we went to was Macy's, the location of the film 'Miracle on 34th Street'. Quite apt that the window displays in the run up to Christmas are of scenes from the story.

Clocks

Prev | Home | Next

The Tourneau store according to their website is the largest watch store in the world, who am I to argue. Around the store outside, are numerous clock faces showing the time all over the world.

Watching

Another billboard type shot. In this one I really like the way all the guys on the poster seem to be watching the passing woman, apart from the guy up the ladder of course.

Attack of the 50ft woman

Prev | Home | Next

I've noticed that I'm currently in a sequence of portrait images rather than landscape, so I'll try to mix them up a bit for a while. On saying that when in New York you do spend quite a bit of your time looking up so these images are probably quite apt.

Anyway, back to this image, and this is what I call a billboard poster I love the way the poster girl is walking down onto the passers by.

Hippy van

Parked right outside the Guggenheim was this decorated van. Might have been better placed in San Francisco rather than New York!

City lights

Prev | Home | Next

By the time we unpacked in the hotel and went for a walk it was early evening. We walked to Times Square primarily to try and find where we were to meet our tour bus the following morning. Heading back we came to the Rockefeller centre and so headed up to 'the top of the rock'. What a great view it was, looking out around the city at night. This as I'm sure you've guessed is a view of the Empire State building.

The Saturday we were in New York the heavens opened during the day. This was taken outside the library.

Sunlight

Prev | Home | Next

New York is lovely on a nice sunny day as the light picks things out inbetween the buildings. As it happened we had overcast weather, sun and rain during the days we were there. All we needed was a bit of snow to complete the set!

Reeds

Prev | Home | Next

well, doesn't time pass quickly when you get out of the swing of things. New year comes and goes, resolutions come and go also. Anyway I'm going to attempt to try and restart posting images on a more regular basis, as hopefully it might get me out taking shots again (I've not taken very many over the last year).

In November I had a few days in New York as my wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, so I might as well do a series of shots from there first. This one was taken in Central Park by the turtle pond.
